Christopher B. Mooney is an accomplished artist who paints urban landscape filled with all the moods of city life. His large oils on canvas are often based on views of the many Portland bridges. Mooney's compositions of bridges are anything but ordinary. He paints them from an unusual point of view giving them a dramatic perspective which makes them both realistic and abstract at the same time. Light plays an imprtant role in Mooney's paintings, illuminating the structure of the bridges, casting shadows and making you look at the bridges differently than you had before.

Portland, Oregon is a city of rivers and bridges. Mooney's facination is with how the geometric shapes of the bridge's steel girders frame the landscape of the city. Mooney also paints bridges from other places in Oregon and beyond.
